Whether it be from a cheap piano keyboard or banging on pots and pans in his parent’s living room, the inspiration to play music was always evident at a young age. At age 11, he would go to his local music shop in the Bronx and eventually take private drum lessons. As a sophomore in high school, he started going to the Renaissance Youth Center, which subsequently earned him a membership in the senior band on drum set. While attending Cardinal Hayes High School in Bronx, New York, he was honored with the National Catholic Band Association Jazz Band award, having only played in the jazz band in his last two semesters. Around this time, he started looking into drummers such as Dennis Chambers, Chris Dave, Art Blakey and Steve Jordan. From there, he attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music, from which he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Professional Music with a Performance concentration.
